T

he National Police said on Thursday that suspected low explosive bombs had detonated in a rented house in Bangil, Pasuruan, East Java.

No fatalities have been reported in the blast, but one person was injured, the police said.

National Police spokesperson Brig. Gen. Muhammad Iqbal said a bomb had exploded at 11:20 a.m. on Thursday, followed by another small blast inside the house.

Neighbors crowded the area before police arrived at the scene.

The alleged owner of the explosive materials and renter of the house, identified only by the initial A, 50, threw two explosives at the police before running away, Iqbal said in his statement.

"A woman who is allegedly the wife of the suspect who owns the explosive materials is currently [with the police] for investigation," Iqbal said on Thursday.

Iqbal said the local police were currently investigating the location of the incident and helping the victim, as well as securing the location. (ipa)
