The Tangerang Police have refuted initial reports that a woman killed in Tangerang on Wednesday was pregnant.
The force confirmed gunshot wounds on the body of Sarifah, 34, who was found dead after reportedly being stabbed and shot in a mugging attempt on Jl. Rasuna Said, Pinang, Tangerang, on Wednesday.
Tangerang Police Chief Sr. Comr. Harry Kurniawan said the police had received an autopsy report on the gunshot wounds and confirmed that the victim was not pregnant, as had been reported earlier.
“Police have questioned four witnesses over the incident,” Harry said, as quoted by kompas.com.
Sarifah was buried at the Budi Darma public cemetery in Cilincing, North Jakarta on Thursday.
As reported earlier, Sarifah was stabbed and shot while trying to prevent robbers from taking away her motorcycle.
The incident happened around 7 p.m. when Sarifah was waiting for her husband, who wanted to top up phone credit, at a parking lot together with her child. (cal)
