Guess what: Ex-girlfriend chose Deddy’s stage name

M

entalist-cum presenter Deddy Corbuzier has revealed some personal secrets during an interview with Boy William in a vlog post on the latter’s YouTube channel on Friday. One of them is about an ex-girlfriend identified only as Cathy. Deddy said it was Cathy who had suggested he use Deddy Corbuzier as a stage name.

“My real name is actually Deddy Cahyadi Sunjoyo. It’s like, a name that can’t really sell,” Deddy said, as quoted by tribunnews.com.

He said he had performed together with his girlfriend, who was a dancer. The idea to change his name had come up when they were about to make a name card together.

“So, she said, ‘what about changing your name?’ Because she majored in architecture, she chose the name of an architect that built the Notre-Dame Cathedral — Le Corbusier,” he added.
