nfinished Asian Games murals painted by Pondok Pinang Public Facility Maintenance Agency (PPSU) workers have been vandalized near the Pondok Indah Mall and Lebak Bulus intersections in South Jakarta.

“I am angry, but what can I do. We work all day under the heat to paint the Asian Games murals, but somebody else has drawn graffiti on them,” PPSU worker Setyo said on Wednesday, kompas.com reported.

He said that he and his coworkers had been painting a mural since Friday, but before they were able to finish it, they found graffiti on the mural wall.

The workers, he said, had to stop painting because they had to cover up the graffiti before finishing the mural.

“We have worked hard. It’s still art, but somebody else vandalized our works, so we’re disappointed,” Muhajar, another PPSU worker, said.

Another worker, Yacub, said that, although he was also disappointed, he was trying to let it go.

“I am just being patient, because what can I do. Just let it go,” he said. (ami)
