Antidrug police officer caught carrying drugs at Soekarno-Hatta airport

A

viation security (avsec) personnel at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport reportedly caught a deputy chief of the West Kalimantan Police’s narcotics unit, identified only as H, carrying crystal methamphetamine.

“He was not cooperative with our officers at the Terminal 1A security checkpoint [SCP] 1,” the airport’s senior branch communication and legal officer, Febri Toga, told tempo.co on Sunday.

H was apparently about to board a plane from to Kendari in South East Sulawesi on Saturday. According to Febri, he had been asked to report a gun and 12 bullets he had on him at the SCP 1.

Avsec officers at SCP 2 conducted a body search on him and reportedly found a packet of crystal meth weighing 23.8 grams in his pocket.

Soekarno-Hatta Airport Police narcotic unit chief Comr. Arief Ardiansyah said the case was now under investigation by the National Police. (vla)
