View all search resultsndonesian gymnast Agus Prayoko won the bronze medal in the men’s vault final round, securing Indonesia’s first gymnastics medal in the 2018 Asian Games.
Competing sixth out of eight gymnasts, Agus scored a total of 14.125 points, trailing behind Shek Wai Hung from Hong Kong, China, and South Korean Kim Han-sol, who secured gold and silver, respectively.
Agus, who clinched a silver medal last year in the Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in Kuala Lumpur, said the result was in line with his expectations.
“I was nervous. [Before competing at the final] I didn’t think about the medal. I just thought about executing my movements,” the 29-year old said, adding that he dedicated the medal to his wife and child.
By coming in third, he defeated a number of tough opponents, like the 2016 Rio Olympics gold medalist Ri Se-gwang from Korea, who finished at fifth.
