motorcyclist successfully prevented a woman from jumping to her death from Ciputat flyover in South Tangerang on Wednesday night.
Ciputat Police chief Comr. Doni Bagus Wibisono said the woman, from the nearby neighborhood of Pamulang, was standing at the edge of the flyover. Her behavior made the biker suspicious, so he stopped and pulled her away from the edge.
"The biker suspected she was attempting to kill herself. It turns out the woman was having family problems," Doni told kompas.com.
Other bikers passing by then tried to help calm her down. Some others also stopped to look at what was going on, which caused temporary heavy traffic.
The woman was then brought to the Ciputat Police headquarters before her family came to pick her up later that same night. (ris)
