ood manufacturing company PT Indofood Sukses Makmur announced on Wednesday that it had posted 3.1 percent growth in consolidated net sales to Rp 54.74 trillion in the period of January to September, compared to Rp 53.12 trillion in the same period, last year.

Income from operations slightly increased 1.4 percent to Rp 6.79 trillion, while its operating margin slightly declined to 12.4 percent from 12.6 percent, according to a company press statement on Wednesday.

The statement says income for the period attributable to equity holders of the parent entity declined 13.6 percent to Rp 2.82 trillion, while its net income margin declined to 5.2 percent from 6.1 percent.

Meanwhile, core profit declined 9.8 percent to Rp 2.93 trillion.

“CPO price remains to be a challenge to our overall performance. On a positive note, we managed to record top line growth in the nine months of this year with notable acknowledgement of the solid performance of CBP Group,” said Indofood president director Anthoni Salim in a statement, referring to PT Indofood CBP Sukses Makmur (ICBP), an Indofood subsidiary.

In a separate statement, CBP Group announced that it had posted 7.5 percent growth in consolidated net sales to Rp 29.48 trillion from January to September, from Rp 27.43 trillion in the same period last year.

CBP Group’s income from operations increased 19.97 percent to Rp 4.97 trillion, while its operating margin grew to 16.9 percent from 15.2 percent, its says.

“We are pleased that ICBP has delivered a solid performance in the third period of this year,” said Anthoni, who is also CBP Group CEO. (bbn)
