The truck's dump body blocked the second lane at kilometer 23+200 Tangerang-bound.
he empty dump body of a heavy truck became stuck under a footbridge on the Jakarta-Tangerang toll road. The incident was reported on Monday at around 2:10 a.m.
The general manager of the Jakarta-Tangerang-Cengkareng section at state-owned toll road operator Jasa Marga, Reza Febriano, said Monday that the dump body had blocked the second lane at kilometer 23+200 Tangerang-bound.
The toll road operator had to engineer the traffic at the scene, where toll road users were being directed to lanes 1, 3, 4, and the roadside.
“We deployed officers to assist toll road users because this has increased vehicle density at the scene,” Reza said.
Jasa Marga spokesman Dwimawan Heru Santoso said the field officers were making several attempts to fix the problem, in particular by removing the truck's dump body as well as strengthening the pedestal in the middle column structure of the footbridge.
“Once we have ensured that the footbridge is firmly supported and the lanes are clear, then all the lanes can be used normally,” he said.
Reza added that the strengthening of the footbridge and the lane clearance were expected to be finished within a maximum of 24 hours.
