rivate water operator PT PAM Lyonnaise Jaya (Palyja) will relocate a 132-meter-long pipe along Jl. Gatot Subroto, South Jakarta from Friday night to Saturday morning.

Palyja spokesperson Lydia Astriningworo said the pipe, which was 600 millimeters in diameter, would be relocated on account of the nearby light rail transit (LRT) construction project.

“The relocation will be done because the pipe would be affected by the Greater Jakarta LRT project, which is under construction,” Lydia said as quoted by kompas.com

The areas that will be affected by the project, among others, are Pancoran, Kebon Baru, Tebet Timur, Tebet Barat, Bukit Duri, Manggarai Selatan, Kampung Melayu and surrounding areas.

“Water supply will be normal periodically starting Jan. 19 at 9 a.m.,” Lydia said.

Lydia also said the company would provide water trucks to anticipate emergency situations at hospitals and mosques, as well as to supply fresh water to several areas. (gis)
