A

police officer who kept patient in dealing with an angry motorcyclist in Bumi Serpong Damai has received an award from the South Tangerang Police.

A recent video circulated showing Chief Brig. Oky being patient with motorcyclist Adi Saputra, who threw a tantrum by damaging his own motorbike after the police ticketed him for driving the wrong way on Feb. 7.

“This is a commitment of the National Police to give awards to officers who have made [the corps] proud. We award this to the traffic police, as one of its officers did the right thing in the face of an emotional citizen,” South Tangerang Police chief Sr. Adj. Comr. Ferdy Irawan said on Thursday, kompas.com reported.

“Our wish is that this award will motivate the officers to achieve better accomplishments in the future."

He said that such an award could help an individual police officer to advance their career.

“If an officer was screened, this award will be counted as a plus for their career development,” Ferdy said. (ami)
