North Jakarta Fire and Rescue Agency deployed eight fire trucks to the scene and firefighters took around 30 minutes to bring the blaze under control.
“Only one ship caught fire. Everything is cleared up now,” agency head Sutriadi told kompas.com.
The incident was reported at 1:15 p.m., he said, adding that no casualties were reported.
The cause of the fire and the financial damage resulting from the incident are still being investigated, he said.
On Feb. 23, a fire destroyed some 30 vessels and injured three people in the neighboring Muara Baru fishing port. The Jakarta Police have named three suspects in that incident. (fac)
