The body head, Supian Suri, said that currently there were 6,212 civil servants in the municipality, while it actually needed another 6,000 people to operate optimally.
“We need twice the number we have today, from 6,000 to 12,000 civil servants. We’ve concluded the data from analyzing positions and workloads,” Supian said on Tuesday, kompas.com reported.
Three hundred workers will retire soon, Supian added.
The Depok administration proposed hiring 239 new civil servants in 2018. The empty positions were mostly in the education and health sectors.
