The police have issued a grace period for drivers with licenses that expire over Idul Fitri.
ood news for drivers: Those with drivers' licenses (SIM) that expire over Idul Fitri are being given a grace period from June 10 to 18 to renew their licenses.
The National Police announced on their Instagram account (@NTMC_Polri) that the driver's license renewal service would be closed from May 30 to June 9, but that licenses could be renewed from June 10 to 18.
“The program is available for all [jursidictions], including the Jakarta Police,” said Polda Metro Jaya vehicle registration head Comm. Fahri Siregar, as quoted by kompasotomotif.com on Friday.
Fahri added that driver's licenses could also be renewed through the Vehicle Document Registration Center (Samsat), the Mobile Regional License or the Police’s Vehicle Registration Center.
The Samsat office is open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday to Friday, and 8 a.m to 12 p.m. on Saturdays. (dpk)
