Stuck PLN technician electrocuted by power lines

The worker was rescued after being stuck for more than an hour.

A

technician for state-owned electricity company PLN got stuck and electrocuted by high voltage power lines on Jl. Cipinang Raya, East Jakarta, on Thursday.

East Jakarta Fire and Rescue Agency operational head Gatot Sulaeman told tempo.co that the worker, identified as Ahmad Sujadi, survived.

“The victim was stuck [on a power line] measuring more than 20 meters,” Gatot said.

Ahmad was doing maintenance work on the power line when he got stuck and was electrocuted. He was unable to move.  

“The victim was rescued after an hour,” Gatot said.

Gatot added that Ahmad was receiving treatment at a hospital. “The victim is still weak and his legs are cramped,” Gatot said. (tru)
