NE Esports, a subsidiary of a leading Asian global sports enterprise, ONE Championship, has set the stage and is inviting online gamers to compete and hone their skills at its qualifying event, called the ONE Esports Dota 2 Jakarta Open Qualifiers.

Registration opened on Jan.29 and is to close on Feb.14. The online qualifiers kick off on Feb.15 in Singapore and Malaysia, on Feb. 16, on Feb. 22 in Vietnam and the Philippines and on Feb.23 in Thailand. The offline qualifiers are to be held on March.7 and 8 at the Sunway Pyramid in Kuala Lumpur and on March 14 and 15 at the Mall Taman Anggrek in Jakarta.

A total of six countries are to participate in the online qualifying round: Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia and Vietnam. Both offline qualifiers are to feature pools of the three winning teams from the online qualifying round, plus an additional invited team.

Players can register at oneesports.gg/competitions. Winners of the offline competition automatically qualify for the ONE Esports Dota 2 Jakarta Invitational, second place finishers get US$1,500, while third and fourth place finishers take home $1,000 and $800, respectively.

The ONE Esports Dota 2 Jakarta Invitational takes place on April 18 and 19 at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE BSD), where the two qualified teams from Southeast Asia are to represent their respective countries and compete against the world’s best Dota 2 teams for a share of the $500,000 prize pool. Carlos Alimurung, chief executive officer of ONE Esports, said the event was tailored to empower community members and also create the opportunity to learn from world-class esports teams.

“They deserve the opportunity to compete on the world's stage,” he said.
