NE Esports, a subsidiary of a Singapore-based media property giant, ONE Championship, in partnership with PGL, has announced the schedule for the next ONE Esports Dota 2 Indonesia Invitational, which is slated to be held in Indonesia from Nov. 23 to 29.

All teams are to compete for prizes worth a total of Rp 7 billion (US$500,000).

ONE Sports CEO Carlos Alimurung said the organizer has been aiming to solidify its attempt to build the Dota 2 ecosystem in the country through the events.

“We will bring together the world's best pro teams to compete and fans can look forward to exciting matches, meet-and-greet sessions, cosplays and the best experiences at our event," he said in a press statement sent to The Jakarta Post on Wednesday.

The last Dota 2 event took place in Singapore, namely the ONE Esports Dota 2 Singapore World Pro Invitational. It was held from Dec. 17 to 19, 2019 and saw China’s Vici Gaming emerge as the overall winner.

The Singapore event drew 88 million global views, with more than 464,000 peak concurrent views. A total of 24 countries were represented. Teams that participated in the tournament included Alliance, Evil Geniuses, Gambit Esports, J.Storm, PSG.LGD, Natus Vincere, Team Aster, Team Liquid, Team Secret, TNC Predator, Vici Gaming and Virtus.pro.

Carlos said, learning from Singapore’s success last year, that he is highly convinced that he would see a better response in Jakarta, meaning more participants and more action during the tournament.
