The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has detained two more suspects for allegedly accepting bribes pertaining to the procurement of a backbone coastal surveillance system at the Maritime Security Board (Bakamla). The two suspects detained were Bakamla’s procurement service unit head, Leni Marlena, and a coordinator from the same unit, Juli Amar Ma’ruf. “These are the suspects who remain accountable to the public,” KPK deputy for enforcement Karyoto said in a press conference on Tuesday as quoted by Leni and Juli will undergo isolation in line with COVID-19 health protocols before being placed in separate state detention centers in South Jakarta. “The detainees will first be isolated for 14 days at a detention center at the KPK’s Anticorruption Learning Center [ACLC],” Karyoto said.
