View all search resultsIndonesia recently suggested to the South Korean government that it would pay about 600 billion won ($442.47 million) for the KF-21 joint fighter jet project, Yonhap reported, citing multiple unnamed government sources.
Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno LP Marsudi and her South Korean counterpart Cho Tae-yul discussed the fighter jet development project on the sideline of the Group of 20 Foreign Ministers' Meeting in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil earlier this week.
Officials from the ministry and a Boeing executive signed the memorandum of understanding at Boeing's St. Louis, Missouri, facility on Monday, Boeing said, though it underscored that the transaction was subject to US government approval.
The ministry said in a statement that Indonesia had signed the deal for 733 million euros ($792 million) with Excalibur International a.s., a unit of Czech defence company Czechoslovak Group (CSG) in January. The planes would be delivered within 24 months of that date.
