The approval rating was up from 35.0 percent in the previous poll conducted earlier this month, while the disapproval rating edged down 3.5 percentage points to 44.8 percent, according to the two-day nationwide telephone survey conducted from Saturday.
In a statement released before his meeting with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, Ma'ruf said that Japan continued to be an important partner for Indonesia and that his presence at Abe's funeral would be further proof of those close ties.

Kishida's support fell to 32.3 percent from 44.3 percent a month before, according to the survey by Jiji news agency conducted at the weekend - approaching what is widely seen as a "danger level" of 30 percent that signifies a government may run into trouble carrying out its political agenda.
Links to the church, founded in South Korea in the 1950s and famous for its mass weddings, have become a headache for Kishida since July 8, when former premier Shinzo Abe was shot and his suspected killer said his mother was bankrupted by the church and blamed Abe for promoting it.
