View all search resultsAt least 50,000 residents living in 31 villages across seven districts in Wonogiri, Central Java, have been affected by drought since July, according to local authorities, which predict that the water shortage will last until October.
With the Idul Fitri celebration just around the corner, the administration of Wonogiri in Central Java has prepared dozens of buses to bring back former residents working in Greater Jakarta. The buses will pick them up on June 10, five days before Idul Fitri.
A number of residents in Nguntoronadi district, Wonogiri regency, Central Java, claim to have seen tigers that have been declared extinct in the Mount Pegat area. The local office of the Natural Resources Conservation Agency (BKSDA), however, was quick to dismiss the sightings as Javan leopards.
