View all search resultsIndonesia must export ready-to-use personal protective equipment (PPE) to South Korea as a form of compensation after the government bought raw materials from the country to meet domestic PPE production needs, COVID-19 task force chief Doni Monardo said.
The regulations on PSBB require that all workplaces, except those in essential sectors such as the financial, fuel, food, medicine, retail, water, communications and logistics sectors, be closed and implement work-from-home policies.However, some business owners have not complied with the policies, resulting in many people still going to work by public transportation despite the city imposing restrictions on passenger capacity.
The government’s COVID-19 fast response team has asked the Health Ministry to call on dentists and otolaryngologists to close their practices temporarily in order to avoid being infected by the virus.
"The public can wear cloth masks, or masks made from other materials, as long as they can prevent the spread of saliva droplets when speaking," said Indonesia's COVID-19 rapid response task force head, Doni Monardo.
The Indonesian capital city has spread the virus to 65 percent of all provinces in the country, despite the official appeal from its governor, while the President holds firm to his refusal to impose a nationwide lockdown.
