President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo has urged local administrations to reallocate their respective regional budgets (APBD) to fund the ongoing COVID-19 mitigation efforts as the central government scrambles to slow the spread of the deadly disease across the archipelago.
Khalawi said the second phase of the makeshift hospital construction was expected to increase bed capacity and provide better accommodation for staff members – including doctors and nurses – who worked around the clock to provide treatment for COVID-19 patients.
