View all search resultsPeople visiting villages today can observe for themselves the increasing fairness in rural development and the growing prosperity of its inhabitants. With the Village Law, the strategy for equalizing national development stems from the nurturing of villages.
The Villages, Disadvantaged Regions and Transmigration Ministry has made headway in rural development, as evidenced by the growing number of villages whose statuses have been upgraded to “self-sufficient”, thanks largely to disbursements from the Village Fund program to finance development under Law No. 6/2014 on villages.
To ensure consistent results, collaboration between the central government and regional governments must share a common agenda that focuses on responding to similar field challenges, as well as a similar policy direction and objectives.
For far too long, the dreams and aspirations of our rural communities, especially those belonging to women, youth, and people with disabilities, have not been integrated meaningfully into the development planning.
