An annual 19.7-kilometer open water swim from Cottesloe Beach to Rottnest Island in Western Australia will take place on Feb. 25.
Sponsored by travel and lifestyle brand Karma Group, the Rottnest Channel Swim welcomes all swimmers to take part as solo competitors, a duo, or as a team.
Paul Newsome, renowned open water swim instructor and Karma Swim Ambassador for the event, will be offering noteworthy training tips to teams and members prior to the swim.

Karma Group founder and chairman John Spence remarked: “Last year’s swim was an unparalleled success with a total of 2,943 swimmers, including a healthy international contingent and competitors from all over Australia.”
For this year’s event, the company is set to support Cancer Council Western Australia. Throughout the event, the council's SunSmart team will spread the word on its “Slip, Slop, Slap, Seek, Slide” motto to raise awareness about skin cancer and sunburn. (nik/kes)
