Pacific Eden cruise ship sails to Benoa, Bali

A Pacific Eden cruise ship carrying 1,500 tourists departed from Darwin, Australia on April 9 and headed to Benoa, Bali. The trip itself will break new ground for being the first cruise ship to dock in the port of Benoa.

Being geographically close and sun-drenched all year round, Bali has always been a favorite holiday destination for Aussies.

Traveling to Bali is also pretty easy for those who live in Australia, there are plenty of direct flights as well as cruises.

A Pacific Eden cruise ship carrying 1,500 tourists departed from Darwin, Australia on April 9 and headed to Benoa, Bali. The trip itself will break new ground for being the first cruise ship to dock in the port of Benoa.

“The P&O Cruises-owned cruise ship will arrive on April 13 and will be welcomed by the Tourism Minister Arief Yahya,” said the Wisata Bahari Indonesia tourism department acceleration team head Indroyono Susilo.

Moreover, Indroyono added that according to the P&O Cruises director of operations, this maiden voyage to Bali is actually a non-profit project, however the company has been willing to take the opportunity because the project has huge potential.

On Sunday, representatives of the Tourism Ministry also had an opportunity to visit Fremantle Yacht Club in Australia, which is planning to hold a yacht rally from Perth to Benoa and Banyuwangi.

“The Benoa-Banyuwangi route is included in the Sail Sabang 2017 festival. These yachters will be given a social-cultural visa that allows them to stay in Indonesia for 60 days,” said Indroyono.

Sail Sabang 2017 is an annual sailing rally in Indonesia that will be held in the city of Sabang from December 1-7 this year. (asw)
