Bali Arts Festival (PKB) 2017 to feature traditional Balinese dishes

 Every region in Bali has its own specific dish and offers distinct flavors

he month-long Bali Arts Festival (PKB) 2017 to be held from June 10 to July 18 will not only entertain visitors with arts and culture performances but also a culinary party offering an array of Balinese traditional cuisines.

“Nine regencies and cities in Bali will take part in the culinary party throughout PKB 2017, every traditional dish will be served at Art Centre Bali every day,” said the head of Bali Tourism Board AA Yuniartha Putra.

Moreover, Putra explained that every region had its own specific dish and offered distinct flavors, “An example is ayam betutu, the kind in Denpasar is different from the kind in Gianyar. It has different levels of spiciness, different ingredients and taste,” said Putra.

The nine participating areas are Tabanan regency, Badung, Gianyar, Klungkung, Bangli, Karangasem, Buleleng and Denpasar.

Some of the dishes to be presented at the festival are ayam betutu, sate lilit, lawar kuwir, babi guling, nasi campur ayam Bali, rujak kuah pindang, rujak bulung, serombotan, tipat blayang, nasi jinggo and nasi tepeng. (asw)
