Supadio International Airport in Pontianak in West Kalimantan and Sultan Thaha Airport in Jambi have been named the best airports according to Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Quarter II/2017 survey.

The survey was conducted by Airports Council International (ACI), an independent organization consisting of 592 companies that operate 1,853 airports across 173 countries.
“These awards motivate us to be better, to make Supadio International Airport in Pontianak, Sultan Thaha Airport in Jambi and other airports under our management to represent the country and contribute to the economic growth and tourism development,” said state-owned airport operator PT Angkasa Pura president director Muhammad Awaluddin.

“It was a long and detail process of comparing 1,853 airports in 173 countries. The process was very independent; among the criteria are the acceleration of airport facility development, service quality and service excellence in accordance to the global standard,” Muhammad added.
Among the total of 34 service areas being surveyed are access, check-in, safety, airport facility and availability of food and beverages tenants.
According to ASQ survey for April – May 2017, Supadio airport ranked first out of 80 countries. Meanwhile, Sultan Thaha Airport is said to be the best airport for airport under two million visitors category, followed by Raja Haji Fisabilillah International Airport in Tanjung Pinang. (kes)
