fter traveling to several beautiful locations in Indonesia, such as Southeast Maluku, Banda Neira, Namroli and Wanci in Wakatobi, participants of Wonderful Sail 2 Indonesia 2017 arrived at Namrole Beach in Ende in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) on Aug. 28.

These participants hailed from 11 different countries in America, Oceania and Europe regions.

The yacht rally kicked off its journey in Opua in New Zealand in July and traveled to Papua Nugini as the first destination. The rally will be conducted for three months from the Pacific to Indonesia.

"This rally event allows yachters to make a stop in several tourist destinations where they will be welcomed by the tourism agency of that place,” said Tourism Ministry’s Marine Tourism Development Acceleration team member, Raymond T. Lesmana, who also organizes the event.

Raymond also expressed his hope for provincial administrations and regents to develop a special terminal for foreign ships. “Yachters will shop and eat there without having to go to large ports or resorts,” he added.

In order to ease foreign yachters in dealing with the immigration, the ministry has created a special website http://yachters-indonesia.id where they are only required to fill in the online form. (kes)
