orean bloggers and media companies have been invited by the Tourism Ministry to join a familiarization trip (famtrip) to Yogyakarta, Magelang and Solo from Nov. 29 to Dec. 4
Up to nine people are joining the trip -- eight of them are bloggers and media people and another one is a representative of Indonesian Embassy in Korea.
“Participants will be taken to popular sites such as Prambanan Temple, Borobudur Temple, Kraton Surakarta royal palace and others,” told the ministry's deputy assistant for Asia-Pacific tourism promotion Vinsensius Jemadu.
“We are taking them to places that have been visited by world figures,” added Vinsensius.
It’s worth mentioning that Borobudur Temple was once visited by former United States President Barack Obama and actor Richard Gere.
The group will also take on the Lava Tour Merapi, watch Ramayana Dance performance in Prambanan Temple, go to Ulen Sentalu Museum, Malioboro, Kraton Yogakarta, Kraton Mangkunegara, Tamansari and Batik Laweyan Village.
Sixty percent of foreign tourists come to Indonesia to explore the nation’s diverse cultures, 35 percent come to enjoy the nature and five percent come for MICE (Meeting, Incentive, Conference and Exhibition) tourism.
According to Tourism Minster Arief Yahya, famtrip activity is categorized as selling in the ministry’s BAS framework that stands for Branding, Advertising and Selling.
“Famtrip, inviting tourism endorsers, tourism industry players and media are important and effective in influencing the public’s opinion,” said Arief. (kes)
