ombok International Airport in Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara, will reportedly operate as normal on Friday despite the cancellation of some flights as a result of the Mount Agung eruption in Bali.
The airport's safety team will continue monitoring the volcano. "Not only that, we will also continue to coordinate with related agencies, such as the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency [BMKG]," Lombok International Airport general manager Gusti Ngurah Ardita said as quoted by tempo.co.
As a result of an increase in volcanic activity on Mount Agung, the decision was made to close Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali for 16 hours starting at 3 a.m. local time.
