s weddings and honeymoons are usually planned far ahead, many couples have been forced to postpone their big day or readjust their expectation for what was supposed to be their once-in-a-lifetime moment.
As part of a new campaign for married couples whose honeymoon plans were called off because of COVID-19, luxury resort Bawah Reserve in Anambas Islands regency, Riau Islands, has launched a competition that will gift the winner with a honeymoon package worth over US$10,000.
"In honor of [our] newly launched True Love Escape Honeymoons, we’re offering one lucky couple the opportunity to win the dream honeymoon they deserve, complete with all the romantic trimmings," read the announcement on the resort's website.
Couples who got married between January 2019 and July can enter the competition by sharing their story on what they had organized for their honeymoon and how the pandemic affected their plans. Submissions must include the couple’s photograph and an essay no longer than 700 words.

One lucky couple will be given a honeymoon package that includes a three-night stay at an over-water bungalow, return transfers from Singapore via a private seaplane and the choice of one of the resort's three honeymoon packages. The trip must be completed by Sept. 1, 2021.
The winners will be announced on Sept. 1 this year.
Bawah Reserve consists of six islands about 257.5 kilometers northeast of Singapore. The resort celebrated its second year on Feb. 15 but was forced to close temporarily in April because of the pandemic. (gis/kes)
