The survey also found that 84.7 percent of respondents said politicians must cut their ties with the Unification Church and any affiliated group.
Kishida has said he has asked all ministers to "check and strictly review any links to the group in question to avoid public doubts and appointed only those who have agreed to do so."
The church has drawn attention over problematic practices such as so-called spiritual sales, in which people are talked into buying jars and other items for exorbitant prices.
It is now under renewed spotlight following the killing of former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe last month after his assailant cited a grudge against the church.
