he Foreign Ministry said it continues to “closely monitor” the security situation in Libya following a new outbreak of armed clashes in Tripoli, urging its citizens in the North African country to stay vigilant and maintain contact with the Indonesian embassy for the foreseeable future.

The embassy has reached out to 302 Indonesians nationals currently residing in the Libyan capital, confirming that none have been injured in the violence so far.

“The Foreign Ministry and the embassy in Tripoli urge Indonesian citizens in Libya to remain on high alert and follow security updates from local authorities,” said Judha Nugraha, the ministry’s citizen protection director, in a statement issued on Wednesday.

He also advised Indonesians planning to travel to Libya to postpone their trips until the security situation stabilizes.

According to ministry data, there are currently 535 Indonesian citizens in Libya, the majority of whom are migrant workers, expatriates and domestic workers.
