Telkom breaks MURI record with launch of 1000 Wi-Fi.ID Corners across Indonesia

To celebrate Indonesia's 69th Independence Day, PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia (Telkom) hosted an event called Wi-Fi.ID Corner One Day Free, a free Wi-Fi.ID Corner service throughout the archipelago.
During the event, Telkom broke the national record as it succeeded in launching 1000 Wi-Fi.ID Corners nationwide in one month. The record was validated by the Indonesian Museum of Records (MURI).
MURI director Jaya Suprana gave the award to Telkom consumer service director Sukardi Silalahi during a flag-raising ceremony at Graha Merah Putih, Jakarta (17/8).
Telkom's mission, which is to provide telecommunications in Indonesia, is carried out in the company's efforts to provide communication infrastructure and information technology in the country.
With the 1000 Wi-Fi.ID Corner program, Telkom provides high-speed Internet of up to 100 Mbps using their Speedy Instan Card in strategic locations, such as universities, malls, cafes, bus stops, Telkom offices and other public areas.
All Wi-Fi.ID Corner visitors were given the Speedy Instan Card special Independence Day edition for free.
'The 1000 Wi-Fi.ID Corners are placed in locations where netter and Internet users usually hangout. They can sample the benefits our fast Internet. This is certainly a big achievement for Telkom and we are very proud of this, especially for getting the award from MURI. This award and achievement will provide great motivation for our company to always give the best service in the future,' said Telkom's consumer service director, Sukardi Silalahi.
Sukardi added that Wi-Fi.ID Corners were comfortable and cozy nooks built to provide people with affordable high-speed Internet.
The Speedy Instan Card can be purchased at all Wi-Fi.ID Corners, Plasa Telkom, and also at mini markets and prepaid cellular package vendors.
Wi-Fi.ID Corners offer affordable Internet. There is the Rp. 5,000 package for unlimited one-day usage, Rp. 50,000 for 30 days, and the Rp. 99,000 Speedy Instan Card Brasil for 30 days with the extra benefit of access to 150 movies and highlights of the 2014 World Cup 2014 on UseeTV.com.
Speedy Instan offers a variety of choices to its customers, such as the Speedy Instan Card, Speedy Instan Elektrik and Speedy Instan 8108 (deducted from users' prepaid amount).
Customers can get a username and password, which can be used in all Speedy Instan, Speedy Hotspot, and Indonesia Wi-Fi (@wifi.id) networks with Speedy Instan 8108, simply by sending a text message to 8108. Type NET [space] 5000 for 24-hour/daily Internet; NET [space] 20000, for 7 days/weekly; NET [space] 50000, for 30 days/monthly; NET [space] 400000, for 365 days/yearly Internet.
Text messages can be sent through TelkomFlexi and Telkomsel (Kartu Halo, simPATI, and Kartu As) mobile numbers. The text message is free of charge.
"We hope Wi-Fi.ID Corners give people easier access to the Internet, so they can enjoy other Telkom services and products such as Usee TV and Telkom's music site Melon.co.id,' said Sukardi.
The 1000 Wi-Fi.ID Corner innovation was triggered by the growing demand for high-speed data access (broadband access).Telkom previously provided Wi-Fi.ID Internet in public spaces. Telkom aims to install 10,000 Wi-Fi.ID Corners throughout Indonesia by the end of 2014.
