Travel site Traveloka is flying workers from the public sector home to their families so they can celebrate Idul Fitri together.

This social program, done in collaboration with state-owned airport operator PT Angkasa Pura I, which operates 13 airports in central and eastern Indonesia, will see Traveloka give out free airplane tickets and hotel room stays to a number of Angkasa Pura I staff members who stayed to work during Idul Fitri.

According to Caesar Indra, senior vice president of business development at Traveloka, this collaboration is to show appreciation to the “heroes behind the scenes” who have helped make this year’s “mudik” (homebound exodus) run smoothly and efficiently.

“With this program, Traveloka wants to show appreciation to workers in the public sector, especially those at airports, who have wholeheartedly helped and served the Indonesian public during Idul Fitri to make the exodus process run smoothly this year. We hope this program can bring a mood of togetherness and Idul Fitri cheer for these people who couldn’t enjoy it while they were serving the public,” Caesar said.

More than 5,000 employees at PT Angkasa Pura I working across 13 airports have contributed toward the effort to serve the public during Idul Fitri. Some 66 of these Angkasa Pura I's employees are being selected to receive tickets and hotel rooms from Traveloka as thanks for their services throughout Idul Fitri.

The travel site has prepared 200 roundtrip flight tickets for select Angkasa Pura I staff members to enjoy, alongside hotel rooms for them to enjoy during their three-day, four-night stays.

“We have used a number of criteria to select the recipients of this program. Those who are eligible to receive the special surprise are at the staff level and have demonstrated good work performance and accomplishments in each of their divisions,” said Adi Nugroho, director of personnel and general affairs at PT Angkasa Pura I. “This is our and Traveloka’s way of rewarding those who have worked and given all their energy to serving the public throughout Idul Fitri.”

Traveloka will also launch a documentary of this special thanksgiving program that tells two of the best stories of PT Angkasa Pura I employees. These two stories can be accessed at Traveloka’s YouTube channel, http://bit.ly/trvlkbali and http://bit.ly/trvlkmks.
