T

he foreign delegates who will arrive in October to participate in the 2018 IMF-World Bank Annual Meetings in Bali will be provided with a free-visa facility, the government has announced.

The same facility will also apply to foreign journalists and representatives of civil society organizations from abroad. The free visas will be given upon the delegates’ arrival at the immigration counters at Ngurah Rai International Airport in Denpasar, Bali, and at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Tangerang, Banten.

The special visa facility for IMF-World Bank delegates will include a 30-day stay in the country, the directorate general of immigration announced on Apr. 18.

The immigration directorate general has been tasked specifically with easing entry for the 18,000 foreign delegates and participants who will attend the upcoming IMF-World Bank meetings on Oct. 12-14.

Toward this end, the directorate general has also readied hundreds of additional immigration officers, adding 500 officers at Soekarno-Hatta airport and 200 officers at Ngurah Rai.

Aside from attending the annual event, the IMF-World Bank delegates will also visit nearby tourist attractions, including in surrounding cities, as their activities will not be limited to Bali and Jakarta.

To maintain the security and comfort of the delegates, the directorate general is cooperating with police in Bali and elsewhere, and emergency procedures have also been prepared.

Special immigration counters will be set up at the airports to manage the delegates’ arrival and departure. Heads of states who will be arriving on private aircraft will be provided separate services in accordance with established protocols.
