Set to unveil its diverse lineup of electric vehicles (EV), which targets a variety of segments, their introduction into Indonesia will come alongside a roster of right-hand drive EV models, emphasizing VinFast’s unwavering commitment to democratizing electric mobility.
A member of Vingroup, the largest private corporation in Vietnam, VinFast was established in 2017 and it quickly became the leading car seller in its competing segments within 21 months of its first product launch in Vietnam. Having launched globally in 2022, VinFast now has its sights set on Indonesia, where it aims to enrich the country’s landscape of green mobility with an array of compelling offerings.
Tailored to meet the diverse travel needs and financial circumstances of Indonesian customers, VinFast’s lineup of EVs will offer comprehensive after-sales services with flexible sales schemes, making its vehicles accessible to everyone in Indonesia.
Expressing enthusiasm for this milestone, Tran Quoc Huy, CEO of VinFast Indonesia, remarked: “VinFast is delighted to formally launch its brand in the Indonesian market at IIMS 2024. We aim to provide local customers with more eco-friendly transportation offerings, along with a commitment to accompany them throughout the electric vehicle ownership journey. We look forward to inspiring the market to explore the limitless potential of a modern and sustainable mobility future.”
Boasting a population of around 250 million and ranking as the largest economy in Southeast Asia, Indonesia represents a pivotal automotive market in the region. With a burgeoning emphasis on electrifying transportation and a suite of government initiatives bolstering the EV sector, Indonesia emerges as a linchpin in VinFast's growth strategy.
Positioning Indonesia as a strategic focal point, VinFast has earmarked significant investment for the construction of a manufacturing facility capable of producing up to 50,000 EVs annually. Beyond serving the local Indonesian market, this facility will fortify VinFast's global supply chain and competitiveness upon commencement of operations.
VinFast's exhibition booth will be open from Feb. 15 to 25, starting at 5 p.m. Additionally, VinFast will host a press event to inaugurate its brand presence, scheduled at 2 p.m. at Booth A6, Hall A, Jakarta International Expo.
