epublican frontrunner Donald Trump has been slammed by rapper Everlast for playing House of Pain's "Jump Around" during a campaign rally.
The song is the rapper’s 1992 hit single with the rap group he fronted. The song has been included in films such as Mrs. Doubtfire and Black Hawk Dawn.
Everlast expressed his rage on social media, saying "I've been informed @realDonaldTrump is using ‘Jump Around’ at his rallies. Stop playing my song you ignorant racist p**** of s*** lawyers are already on it. I don't want your money no amount you offer will get the license. I would love to meet you and smack that comb over right off your scalp you s******!!!".
But the rapper, who's real name is Erik Schrody, later shared on Facebook that although he stands behind his opposition to Trump, he regretted letting his anger get the best of him and resorting to name calling and threatening to smack Trump. "In my anger and dislike for the man and his tactics, I wound up sounding just like him and that I regret."
He added that whatever he thought of Trump, he did not wish his supporters any ill will. "You have the right to vote for whoever you want that's what MAKES AMERICA GREAT. I'm not telling anyone to vote for any specific candidate but I know for sure Trump won't be mine."
Trump was seen entering his rally in Milwaukee on Monday night with "Jump Around" blasting in the background. He is known for his controversial statements regarding immigrants and Islam. He has also been involved in Twitter feuds with many people, including comedian Rosie O’Donnell and journalist Megyn Kelly.
Rolling Stones reported that other musicians such as R.E.M., Neil Young and Aerosmith had also quarreled with Trump for using their music in his campaigns. (kes)
