Several Android users have reportedly been able to access live video app Periscope from their Twitter accounts.
When creating tweets, a new button named “Go Live” shows up among the usual features such as “record video” or “attach images”. This button will then redirects users to Periscope to start a live video. However, for those who have not yet installed Periscope on their phone, they will be taken to Google Play Store instead.

“We’re rolling out a ‘Go Live’ button in Twitter to a small percentage of users,” announced Twitter as quoted by The Verge. “Over time, all users will have the ability to start a Periscope broadcast from Twitter.”

Periscope, which is basically a video-streaming app, was bought by Twitter last year after purchasing Vine, the six-second and looping video-sharing app, in 2012. Based on both acquisitions, the company seems eager to develop its video abilities to meet its users’ needs. (kes)
