Want to wear your hijab in the most fashionable way? Indonesia boasts plenty of Muslim fashion designers whose works are adored local and globally. Without further ado, here are six local designers that specialize in Muslim fashion. We adore them all.

Without further ado, here are six local designers that specialize in Muslim fashion. We adore them all.

Dian Pelangi

As her name suggests, Dian Pelangi’s collections are known for color. While sticking to signature tie-dye, batik, and songket, Dian plays with various patterns and color. In addition to DP by Dian Pelangi, Dian offers a selection of other lines including DP Bride, Gallery Dian Pelangi, DP Hajj, D-Men, and DP Kids.

Starting price: Rp 300,000 (US$22.45)

Ria Miranda

A graduate of ESMOD fashion school and an ex fashion stylist for Noor magazine, Ria Miranda is quite successful with her trademark feminine-cut clothes in pastel colors. Check out both her modest luxury line, Ria Miranda Signature, and her casual wear line, Ria Miranda.

Starting price: Rp 1,100,000 for signature collections and Rp 437,500 for casual wear

Elhasbu

Owned by model Lulu Elhasbu, the Elhasbu brand is known for its signature tunic. The Elhasbu tunic is a favorite to pair with jeans and pants, and looks great with both heels and sneakers. In addition to the tunic, the brand also offers a great range of dresses suitable for daily use.

Casa Elana

Casa Elana is perfect for breast-feeding moms who want to appear trendy. Shaped in cape-like fashion, mothers can finally escape from the dreary shirt routine and wear something more fashionable. The brand also offers other daily wear clothes, ranging from tops and pants to head scarfs.

Starting price: Rp 445,000 for the brand’s breastfeeding range and Rp 250,000 for casual wear

JENAHARA Black Label

Jenahara Nasution’s clothing label was created in 2011 as a premium line. Customers can expect edgy, unconventional designs. In 2015, JENAHARA Black Label was featured at Indonesia Fashion Week.

Meccanism by Zaskia Mecca

Meccanism is a brand by actress-turned entrepreneur Zaskia Adya Mecca. It features casual wear intended for daily use, ranging from casual to office wear. Aside of clothes and pants, it also provides head scarfs and prayer clothes (mukena). (kes)
