small lock of late singer David Bowie's hair is set to be auctioned in Beverly Hills, California. The former owner of the hair, Wendy Farrier, used to be a wigmaker at Madame Tussauds museum in London.
“Hair samples were taken so that they could be matched at a later stage to accurately reproduce the various shades of blonde Bowie had as his style at the time,” said Farrier in a letter that was written for the Heritage Auction house, adding that Bowie came for his hair cut in 1983.
Farrier then was allowed to take and keep Bowie’s lock of hair because her superiors recognized her as a Bowie’s fan. For three decades, she kept the lock of hair alongside her photograph with Bowie in her house.
