omputer and tech giant, Apple, announced that it will discontinue its external monitor, the Thunderbolt Display. For the time being, the item will only available in stores “while supplies last”.
Apple’s spokesperson said in a statement: “We’re discontinuing the Apple Thunderbolt Display. It will be available through apple.com, Apple’s retail stores and Apple Authorized Resellers while supplies last. There are a number of great third-party options available for Mac users.”

There is no further details on why Apple took the decision of discontinuing the 27-inch flat panel monitor. There, however, have already been signs of the company phasing out the popular computer monitor as reports of limited supplies of the Thunderbolt displays surfaced just months ago.

The Thunderbolt display was first released in 2011 and is widely used in the design and creative industries. Its resolution of 2560x1440 ppi made it one of the most coveted computer monitors to date. Rumors of Apple coming up with a 5K external display have also been widespread, but Apple has yet to make any confirmation.
