nother milestone has been recorded by WhatsApp as it announced on Thursday that over 100 million voice calls were made every day on its platform.
"For more than a year, people have used WhatsApp Calling to talk with friends and family around the world. It's a great way to stay in touch, especially when connecting with people in other countries, or when messages alone won't do," stated the company on its official blog.
"Today, more than 100 million voice calls are made every day on WhatsApp - that's over 1,100 calls a second! We're humbled that so many people have found this feature useful, and we're committed to making it even better in the months to come."

Acquired by Facebook in 2014 for US$19.3 billion, WhatsApp released its voice call feature in March last year for Android users, followed by iOS devices a month later.
Earlier this year, the Mountain View-based company announced that its app had been used by over 1 billion people and, to help them communicate more safely, it rolled out full end-to-end encryption for every call, message, photo, video, file and video message. (kes)
