opular Korean television series "Descendants of the Sun" is set to be adapted to the big screen, and in a country that might surprise you: China.
Celebrated Chinese director Zhang Yi Bai said that he was feeling the pressure due to the popularity of the show and the charming male and female protagonists that are central to that popularity. He is still wondering how he will translate that same charm onto the big screen. He also believes that the film adaptation of the series should not only take advantage of the powerful characters in the show but should also seek to improve on the original product.
As reported by crienglish.com, news of the upcoming project was revealed in a press conference on Tuesday by Zhejiang Huace Film and TV Co., one of China’s largest production studios.
The cast of the movie based on this 16-episode K-drama series has reportedly not been decided yet. Fans hope they are able to find actors capable of capturing the magic of the original show, which starred Song Joong-Ki and Song Hey-Kyo. (jam/kes)
