S rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers were reportedly asked by customs officials in Belarus to sign a selection of Metallica photographs and CDs.
The group tried to explain that they were not Metallica but the customs officials at the airport in Belarus insisted that they sign anyway, explained bass player Flea on his Instagram account.
"They had the power. Well I did play fight fire with Metallica once. I love Metallica but I'm no Robert Trujillo," said Flea, who appeared to find the situation more funny than offensive and shared a picture of the band signing the Metallica merchandise.

The rock band is currently on tour in Europe to promote their latest album, The Getaway. Rolling Stone reported that the reason the officials mistook Red Hot Chili Peppers for Metallica was unclear as the latter do not have a tour schedule in the continent this summer. It is also unclear why they kept Metallica merchandise at the customs office. (kes)
