Exercise at Gelora Bung Karno
The stadium is indeed very crowded on weekends, but it offers plentiful outdoor activities. It is not only famous as a running spot for office workers around the SCBD area in South Jakarta, it is also well known for various sports activities including archery, softball and golf. If you don’t mind mingling with hundreds of people who also want to break a sweat, you can try joining weekend communal activities, from free aerobics enjoyed by senior citizens to the mass jogging.

Visit Jl. Surabaya flea market
As you stroll along the long, straight Jl. Surabaya in Central Jakarta, you can find various kinds of Indonesian souvenirs, from wayang and porcelain to sculptures and old books. You can also find antiques, such as old vinyl records, compasses, phonographs and more. As this place is filled with so many goods at various prices, take your time exploring. Visiting this place for an afternoon walk is recommended.
Enjoy the outdoors at Ocean Ecopark Ancol
The Ocean Ecopark is located within Taman Impian Jaya Ancol, a popular recreational park in North Jakarta. With an open space of nearly 34 hectares, the place boasts plentiful outdoor activities to try with group of friends or family such as the flying fox, paintball, learning farm, running and biking. Aside from that, visitors can also opt to explore other activities within Ancol like the Dunia Fantasi amusement park or enjoying seafood dishes at Bandar Djakarta restaurant.

Wall climbing in Kuningan
Visit Plaza Festival in Kuningan, South Jakarta, if you want to try your hand at wall climbing. In the area, there’s a 20-meter-high wall that is divided into three climbing sections: straight vertical blue for beginners and two inclined yellow sections for advanced climbers. The place is operated by jakartaclimbers and is available every Tuesday and Thursday from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. for after-work sessions or every Sunday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. with prices starting at Rp 100,000 (US$7.65) per visit, including equipment.
Total workout with Master Bootcamp
Sweat it out with a total body workout by Master Bootcamp. Although they only last for an hour, the workouts are challenging as participants are asked to do a combination of exercises using every part of their body. The exercise routine with Master Bootcamp is available every Saturday from 6 a.m. to 7 a.m. at a basketball court in Gelora Bung Karno, with a starting price of Rp 120,000 per session or Rp 60,000 for first-timers.
