The Resonanz Music Studio Orchestra hosted a choir festival at Balai Resital Kertanegara in South Jakarta on Sept. 24-25. Dubbed Pesta Paduan Suara (Choir Party), the event was part of BMS' 20th anniversary celebration, which for the past two decades had performed a plethora of compositions, from baroque period to classical and contemporary music. BMS has received many prestigious international awards and once participated in the European Grand Pix for Choral Singing 2013 in Arezzo, Italy.
The Resonanz Music Studio music director Avip Priatna said in a press release on Sunday, “Pesta Paduan Suara was held to honor a local choir group that has been acknowledged globally. Through this event, we hope to increase awareness about Indonesian choir groups, especially Jakarta-based groups, and attract the public to come and watch their performances.” (kes)
