ndonesian actor Joe Taslim was awarded the Best APAN Star Award in Seoul, South Korea, on Sunday, by the Asia Pacific Actors Network (APAN).
He received the award alongside artists from other countries, including Thanayong Wongtrakul from Thailand, Jessy Mendiola from the Philippines, Narimiya Hiroki from Japan, Kim Hee Sun from South Korea and megahit Descendants of the Sun lead actor, Song Joong-ki.
The actor uploaded a short video of his acceptance speech on to his Instagram account.

“I have the dream for more Asian collaboration to happen in the future,” Joe said in his speech at the ceremony at MBC Sangam Culture Plaza in Seoul. The actor who has just recently starred in Star Trek: Beyond also remarked that he dedicated the award to his friends and fans, both in Indonesia and in South Korea.
Joe received the award from the APAN Star Awards, an annual awards ceremony part of the 2016 DMC Festival in South Korea. Prizes are mostly given to popular actors and actresses of the hottest dramas in the country.
Aside from receiving the award, Joe also showed off his singing voice via a performance with Korean singer Eru during the ceremony. The two performed “Black Glasses”, a song recorded by Eru and Indonesian artist Atiqah Hasiholan. (asw)
