he newest single of the British girl group Little Mix probably threw some shade at member Perrie Edwards’ ex-beau, Zayn Malik.
“Shout Out to My Ex,” the girl group’s newest single from their forthcoming album “Glory Days” was gossiped to be a sweet revenge against the former “One Direction” member. Several lyrics from the single indicate that the song was about Malik, 23, and his relationship with his current girlfriend, Gigi Hadid, 21, especially when Edwards belts out the couplet, “This is a shout out to my ex / Heard he in love with some other chick.”
Another lyric, “Guess I should say thank you / For the ‘hate-yous’ and the tattoos,” is a reference to Malik’s previous tattoos of Edwards, 23, which he covered up when he dated Hadid.
Member Jesy Nelson sings the lines, “I deleted all your pics / Then blocked your number from my phone,” which leads to the time Edwards eliminated their photos on social media after their harsh breakup.

The group also shared an excerpt of their upcoming biopic “Our World” on Twitter, which displayed Edwards’ side of the story.

Despite the song’s timely message, social media dissed “Shout Out to My Ex” as a ripoff of 2014 song, “Ugly Heart” sung by G.R.L, a popular British all-girl group, BBC reported. The controversy escalated when G.R.L. posted this cryptic tweet on Monday.

Edwards and Nelson are joined by Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jade Thirlwall, and they will launch “Glory Days” on Nov. 18.
